Description
David O'Leary is quickly establishing himself as Ireland's premier young tenor. At just 27 years of age, he has already performed for US President Bill Clinton, President of Ireland Mary McAleese, US Chief Justice John Roberts, Governor Martin O'Malley of Maryland, the New York Mets and the New York Giants. He has also performed in front of a worldwide audience when singing at the 2009 All-Ireland Football semi-Final at Croke Park, Dublin, Ireland. A native of Gorey, County Wexford, David's musical journey began in high school when he auditioned for the school production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". His leading role of "Joseph" was follwed closely by the lead "Brigadoon". Other roles followed in musicals such as "Me and My Girl" and "The Boyfriend". After his initial foray onto the stage, David began formal vocal training with Irish soprano Deirdre Masterson. During his time with Ms. Masterson, David won prizes at the major Irish classical competitions in Dublin (Moore's Melody Prize), Arklow (Moore's Melody Cup and Gold Medal, Musical/Light Opera Prize), and Sligo (Moore's Melody Prize, Musical/Light Opera Prize). A keen chorister, David successfully auditioned for the Irish Youth Choir and joined the National University of Ireland (Galway) chamber choir, as well as the renowned Galway Baroque Singers. A versatile performer, David also played the role of "Butler" with the world renowned Bunratty Singers at Bunratty Castle, Ireland. David maintains a full public and private international performance schedule and is based in New York. 'Going Home' is his debut release.
