I once said to a friend; about the movie, TITANIC, "What's the point?" You know that the ship sinks. As a Christian, I know the end story of this novel before beginning. However, this sure and certain knowledge only enhances the joy and inspiration gained in reading this book !Just as the end-time period of trials and tribulation is to be feared, the jubilant return of the Son of God is to be eagerly awaited. Reading this account of that time, written by a pastor and biblical scholar, has given me a renewed sense of the wonder and majesty of Christ, the breadth and inevitability of His power, and need to continue to heed and draw strength from His word.Despite "knowing how the story ends", I hated to put this book down for such mundane worldly things as sleeping or eating. The characters are portrayed in such a way that I could relate to them. The scenarios, while continuing to escalate, seemed plausible in the context of the story. The strong faith of the believers has inspired me and their courage in the face of tribulation has given me courage. Sometimes, in reading the Bible, we tend to think of that type of strength of faith and unwavering courage in one's belief as being qualities of the disciples and early martyrs; but this novel demonstrates to us that this same type of faith and courage are not only possible in our own time - but are desired for us by our Heavenly Father.Uplifting, inspiring and faith-enhancing, I strongly recommend this book !
